Sustainable Net-Zero Architecture Laboratory

Research areas include architectural planning and design, architecture and interior design, digital architectural design, smart IoT environmental controls, and resilient building design and environmental adaptation.
In response to the escalating global environmental crisis, the United Nations proposed 17 Sustainable Development Goals in 2015, with Goal 11 focusing on "Sustainable Cities and Communities." The core of this objective is to reduce energy and resource consumption in the construction industry, and practical actions center on promoting energy efficiency within the green building sector. This laboratory engages in integrated research linking net-zero carbon buildings, the characteristics of indoor energy usage, building maintenance management, and energy consumption data analysis. Recently, efforts have expanded to include energy efficiency evaluation for accommodation-type buildings. As future national policies will require comprehensive building maintenance and renovation to achieve the 2050 net-zero pathway, it is hoped that a robust system for building energy conservation and carbon reduction can be established. This will drive industrial upgrading and new business opportunities, as well as enhance the effectiveness of greenhouse gas reduction in the residential and commercial sectors.
