The Design Theory Group of the Graduate Institute of Architecture and Urban Design at Taipei University of Technology focuses on theories and practices related to architectural design. Under the leadership of the four faculty members, the courses taught include architectural typology, spatial culture, Chinese and foreign architectural history, cultural landscape, spatial aesthetics, global landscape, critical architectural theory, preservation of cultural assets, and human-environment interaction. The teaching objectives of this group are to guide students to use observation, analysis, induction, and creative thinking to dialogue with users, to enhance students' humanistic concern for the environment, to propose an analytical framework and theory of the environment, and to promote the theory through practice.
