The teaching objectives of the Urban Design Group of the Master of Architecture and Urban Design program at National Taipei University of Technology are: to integrate various issues of urban and rural development across fields, to explore urban and rural spatial development patterns in the face of future industrial and economic patterns, to cultivate urban and rural planning and design professionals with both theoretical and practical skills, to implement the integration of industry, government, academia and research, and to meet domestic needs with a global perspective.

The emphasis is on diversified teaching development, and the key directions of development are as follows.

1. Sustainable urban and community planning, ecological community research, heat island effect, extreme climate, and urban environmental control.

2. subtropical cities, low-carbon architecture research, building energy conservation, low-carbon urban planning.

3. housing policy, community building social program research, housing and urban economy, circular economy, aging society.

4. urban competitiveness, smart cities, healthy cities, friendly cities, resilient cities, urban regeneration.

Special emphasis is placed on community participation, urban practice, integration of industry, government, and academia, and international exchange and visitation. The program provides students with a perfect learning environment and knowledge, and more importantly, allows students to work with zero distance from the industry and be widely used and recognized by the industry.
